Many people suffering from the lasting effects of trauma are reluctant to seek traditional "talk therapies" as the very idea of having to retell the story of their trauma can be unbearable. While talking about your trauma is always acceptable, the good news is that its not necessary for the modalities that I practice to be successful.
Best of all, I will teach you the tools you need to manage your symptoms, (TRM), and to continue to heal yourself while not in session, because the goal is not to need therapy forever, but to be able to leave it behind you.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, (EMDR) and the Trauma Resiliency Model, (TRM). Both modalities have been empirically proven to be highly effective in not only managing the symptoms trauma can leave us with, but are specifically designed to work directly with the physiology of the central nervous system to actually heal the neurological disruptions that a traumatic experience has left us with. .
